-        Briefly explain how the protocol is used

1.      HTTP – Hyper Text Transmission Protocol

-        Used by the World Wide Web and it defines how messages are formatted and transmitter and what actions Web servers and browsers should take in response to various commands

2.      FTP – File Transfer Protocol

-        Used to transfer files between an account and a desktop computer or access online software archives.

3.      IP – Internet Protocol

-        Used to avoid the burden of assigning specific static addresses to each device on a network.

4.      TCP – Transmission Control Protocol

-        Establishes and maintain a network conversation via which application programs can exchange data.

5.      POP3 – Post Office Protocol 3

-        Used for accessing email on a remote web browser from a local client

6.      SMTP – Simple Mail Transfer Protocol

-        It moves your email on and across networks.

7.      IMAP – Internet Message Access Protocol

-        Used by email clients to retrieve email messages from a mail server over a TCP/IP connection.
